Twitter may have discreetly banned third-party clients, such as Tweetbot and Twitterrific, on the platform. These external apps offered users many benefits, including a customised UI, custom timeline settings, and other enhancements, for which the services relied on using Twitter's API. As per The Information, leaked Slack messages show that the discreet ban may have been intentional.
