The Indian government has reduced duties on certain locally manufactured electronic parts and proposed to lower the customs duty on certain mobile phone manufacturing inputs in the Union Budget 2023. The changes may cause a slight reduction in the manufacturing costs of smartphones, laptops, DSLRs, and televisions, although it remains unclear if the benefits will be passed on to the consumers.
